Pit Pals is a rescue centre situated just outside Cape Town, near Melkbosstrand. As the name suggests, Pit Pals concentrate its efforts on helping Pit Bull Terriers finding new, permanent homes. Four local businesses came together to facilitate a donation of valuable roof sheeting for new kennels at Pit Pals.
Pit Pals take in distressed and ill-treated dogs who are taken in from all over the Cape, they are housed at Pit Pals. They are assessed, given loads of loving care whilst new homes are found for them.
Centre manager Robyn Bronkhorst explained, ‘We exist as an organisation from charitable donations, so any help and donations are always welcome.’ We are busy expanding, building new kennels, so the kind donation of roof sheets from ONOMO Hotels Cape Town Inn on the Square, came just at the right time. The donation of roof sheets was facilitated by All Seasons Roofing & Waterproofing who removed the sheets whilst working on a roofing project at the OMONO Hotel in Cape Town.
The hard work of delivery was carried out by regular volunteers R&D Offroad and Gobi – X Manufacturing. Johan Müller from R&D Offroad added ‘It is always a pleasure helping out at Pit Pals so when these roof sheets came available we knew exactly where they would be needed.’ Shane Garcia of Gobi – X Manufacturing: ‘We have been helping out at Pit Pals with food donations, so it was great to be able to help with the transport of the new kennels. We hope that this will enable Pit Pals to help more pit bulls.’
